There’s something about spring that makes me want to throw a party. Maybe it’s the changing season or just the fact that I can crawl out from under my blankets and see the sun again.
There’s no shortage of spring holidays: St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Earth Day, and Mother’s Day. Whether you’re celebrating spring or just planning a simple weekend get-together, the most important part is planning the food.
I’ve rounded up the best spring party food inspiration that’s made with fresh, seasonal favorites like berries, citrus, asparagus, tomatoes, eggs, and pork.
Party food tips
- As the weather warms up, remember to keep foods that are served cold, like pasta salad, chilled. According to the FDA, the “safe zone” is below 40 degrees.
- Warm weather also means bugs. Keep your dishes covered when outdoors to avoid any unwanted guests.
- Aim for most of your foods to be finger foods. This cuts down on the number of utensils you need to set out, then wash later. Plus, finger foods are easier for guests to eat while mingling.
- Include a variety of fruits and vegetables so there’s something for everyone (even picky kids). Ask your guests about allergies before setting the menu.
