One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to sit on the patio with a cold drink and just relax. Or float in the above-ground pool that we set up right before Memorial Day each year.
I combined two of my favorite warm-weather treats to create this strawberry margarita shake.
This tastes somewhere between a margarita and a milkshake. Like most of my recipes, it’s pretty flexible and you can change up some of the ingredients to your taste. I added frozen strawberries, but you can substitute any fruit that you might enjoy in a margarita. {Mango? Blueberry?} This might also be fun with different ice cream flavors besides plain vanilla.
Also, while I made this cocktail with alcohol, you could easily leave it out for a non-alcoholic version. Drink responsibly.

How to make strawberry margarita shakes
I used my Ninja blender to make this recipe. One batch fits in one of the 16-ounce blender cups and divides into two servings. You can easily double the recipe to make a full pitcher.
Ingredients
- 1 cup vanilla ice cream
- 3 large, frozen strawberries
- 4 ounces orange juice
- 4 ounces margarita mix
- 1.5 ounces tequila
- fresh limes or strawberries {optional garnish}
Instructions
This recipe is so simple, it barely needs much explanation. Combine all ingredients in the blender and pulse until smooth.

Divide into glasses and garnish with fresh fruit if desired.

I love how quick and easy this is to whip up! It may become my default summer drink to enjoy by the pool.
