I made one of these for my kids when they were very little and filled it with pages. Before each road trip, I checked to see what kind of printables they were using most and printed some more to add.
You can even keep this in the car for a boredom buster on a shorter drive too. Ours is small enough that it can fit in the pocket in the back of a seat.
How to make a road trip binder
Supplies
- printer paper
- half-inch 3-ring binder
- 3-hole punch
- pencil bag
- pencils and erasers
- pencil sharpener
- crayons, colored pencils, etc.
Instructions
- Download and print all the road trip printables. You can print double-sided or just single-sided.
- Punch holes in all the pages and add them to the 3-ring binder.
- Fill the pencil bag with art supplies and add it to the binder.

Get your preschooler to practice counting and colors with this car worksheet. Watch out the window and mark a box for each car you see!
I spy car game
This I Spy car game is fun for a solo player or several kids to work together. Look for something that begins with each letter of the alphabet along your road trip.

Word search and word scramble puzzles are good entertainment for older kids. This one includes things you might see on your road trip and places you could visit.
