There’s something about fall that makes me think of homemade apple pie. If you’re looking for a recipe that incorporates those flavors into a quick breakfast or snack, try this apple pie smoothie.
It’s full of apple, of course, but I used applesauce to save time peeling and chopping a fresh apple. I adde brown sugar and cinnamon, but you could swap for honey or your favorite pie spice blend.
To thicken this smoothie, I used quick oats and creamy peanut butter. The nut butter adds a subtle hint of flavor but doesn’t overwhelm the apple. If you avoid peanuts, you could use a different nut butter.

How to make an apple pie smoothie
Ingredients
- 0.5 cup apple sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 0.25 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
- 0.25 cup oats
- 0.5 cup milk
- ice, as needed
Instructions
1. Blend ingredients.
Combine all ingredients – apple sauce, brown sugar, cinnamon, peanut butter, oats, and milk – in the cup of a blender. Pulse to blend until smooth.
2. Add ice.
Check the consistency and decide how thick you want your smoothie. For a thicker smoothie, add a few ice cubes and pulse until they’re completely blended in. For a thinner smoothie, serve as-is or add a splash more of milk.
Pour into a glass and serve cold, immediately.

I haven’t tried storing this and since it’s such a quick recipe to mix up, you don’t really need to make it ahead of time.
