Summerween might be the best made-up holiday of all. It has all the fun of Halloween when the weather is warm. If you’re used to wearing a jacket over your Halloween costume because of a sudden chill, you’ll love spending this holiday eating warm-weather treats and hanging out in your backyard.

I collected dozens of deliciously creepy ideas for breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner, and dessert. There’s a bit of something for everyone here, whether you like a simple snack mix or a baked dessert.

What is Summerween?

Summerween is the celebration of Halloween in the summer. The idea originated in an episode of Gravity Falls (season 1, episode 12). The town hosts a second Halloween in the summer with trick-or-treating and carving jack o’lantern watermelons on June 22.

Whether you’re a Gravity Falls fan or not, summer is the perfect time to celebrate all things creepy and cute. Plan a Summerween cookout or pool party with these fun recipe ideas.
