I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

I don’t know where that little song/saying came from, but it’s one that my mom said all the time when I was a kid. Possibly because there were 4 kids in my family, and there was pretty much always someone screaming.

Anywho, as I’m typing up this blog post, it’s about halfway until Halloween. We’re getting ready for summer, but Halloween is my favorite holiday so I’m pretty much always thinking about it.

If you love the Halloween aesthetic year-round… or it’s back around to Halloween again, you’ll adore these Summerween stickers.

I made 3 different designs: a Dairy Scream vanilla ghost cone, a skull ice scream cone, and a pink and purple frickin’ bats sundae.

To make these, I drew out the designs in my sketchbook, then scanned them into my iPad to fancy up the lines and add watercolors.

What is Summerween?

Summer + Halloween = Summerween

Technically the name came from the cartoon Gravity Falls. In the episode, the whole town celebrates Halloween twice a year – in October and June.

I don’t know of anywhere that you can really go trick-or-treating in June, but I love the idea of having 2 Halloweens! Lots of other people do too (I think) because Summerween has popped up around the internet.

If you want to celebrate at home:

  • Dress up in costumes
  • Carve jack o’lanterns from watermelons instead of pumpkins
  • Watch a kid-friendly scary movie or tell spooky stories
  • Eat candy corn or make s’mores around a campfire

Creepy cute aesthetic

Summerween really fits into what I call the creepy cute aesthetic. It’s a mix of creepy gothic Halloween ideas with everything cute and pastel. I think it’s a ton of fun because it’s a bit unexpected.

Think of creatures that should be scary, but are actually adorable – like a vampire bat, but with big anime eyes. Or a monster with lots of arms who just wants a hug.

Creepy cute includes things like using pink for Halloween decorations. Or adding colorful and fun Halloween themes any time of year, like a Halloween phone case or candy corn earrings.

You can download the files and print these yourself on your home printer on your favorite sticker paper.
