I love making jewelry, especially earrings because you can make a custom one-of-a-kind piece. Even if I see someone walking around with candy corn earrings, they’re probably very different from mine!
Last year I made a pair of tassel ghost earrings, so this year I wanted to go with something a bit more chic.
Make a pair of these earrings to wear all season long this fall. Or pair them with an orange dress and yellow tights and dress up a piece of candy for an easy Halloween costume.
These are perfect for people who enjoy eating the sugary treat and those who love the aesthetic but wouldn’t take a bite.
Jewelry-making tips
These earrings are chandelier style, which is easy enough for beginners if you have a little patience. Getting the cuts and bends just right takes some practice and more experienced crafters will probably be able to make these faster.
Here are a few tips to help you get started:
- Use a good pair of jewelry pliers. They’re smaller than the ones you probably use for household tasks and the ones I use can bend, shape, and cut.
- Work in good lighting. Even if your vision is fine, you’ll be squinting as some tiny beads, so make sure your lighting is bright so you can see the details easily.
- Use a tabletop with a tray. If you work over a tray or other small container with a lip, you’ll easily be able to find a tiny bead if you drop it.
- Don’t be afraid to scrap a nail or ring and try again. Most of the metal jewelry supplies come in bulk packaging, so if you bend or cut a wire and it isn’t working right, start over with a new piece.
- Make what you like! You don’t need to copy my design 100% for it to look amazing. Change up the number of dangles on each earring or the number of beads on each dangle. (If you don’t like candy corn, you can even swap all the beads for something else!)
What if I don’t like fishhook earrings?
If you don’t like fishhook style earrings or can’t wear them for some reason, these can be made with other earring backs too. Try these lever back earring posts or use smaller jump rings and these ball post earrings.
And if you find that your fishhook earrings won’t stay in your ears, I often have the same issue! Just grab a pair of plastic earring backs. They’re clear so nobody will even notice.
Are these hypoallergenic earrings?
If some jewelry makes your ears itchy, you might be sensitive to nickel (or another metal). All of the supplies I linked to and use myself are rhodium, which is considered hypoallergenic.

How to make candy corn earrings
Enjoy these beaded candy corn earrings all fall without worrying about the sugar content!
Supplies
- jewelry pliers
- scissors
- 8 candy corn glass beads (1 package)
- 18 glass seed beads (This design uses 6 of each yellow, orange, and white)
- 1 pair fishhook earrings
- 2 2-inch head pins
- 2 6mm jump rings

Instructions
As a quick overview of this craft tutorial, you’ll be making 4 different bead dangles for each earring, then adding them onto a jump ring to attach to the earring hook.
1. Make a bead dangle.
Start by threading a single candy corn bead onto a head pin with the head at the bottom.
Use the jewelry pliers to bend the pin to one side. I didn’t have any issues, but be careful not to be too rough since these are glass beads.
Next, wrap the wire backward over the rounded end of the pliers. This will create the little eye hook at the top.

Finally, cut the excess off of the end of the pin and bend the hook all the way into a circle.
This will take some practice to get it perfectly round. If you look closely, some of mine are a bit more oval than others. Be sure to close the end of the loop at the top.

2. Create 4 pairs of dangles.
Repeat the steps to make 4 dangles for each earring. Add the seed beads to some of them, as pictured below. This will create dangles of different lengths so they hang and look more interesting.
There is not a certain length or number of beads that are perfect. You can make them exactly the same combinations as mine or different. Make sure that you make 2 of each design – one for each earring.

3. Attach the bead dangles.
For each earring, take one jump ring and open it slightly by twisting the two ends away from each other side to side (not by widening the circle).

Slide 2 of the bead dangles onto the jump ring, then the fishhood, then the other 2 bead dangles. Close the jump ring by twisting it back together.

Repeat the process to make a second earring with 4 candy corn bead dangles and a fishhood on a jump ring.

Double-check that all of your loops are closed as close as possible. Then you’re ready to wear your candy corn earrings!
