I love pumpkin pie and usually have a leftover slice for breakfast on the day after Thanksgiving. It’s delicious and pair so well with a hot mug of coffee. While I could eat pie for breakfast every day, I decided it would be fun to come up with a more breakfast-friendly recipe.
This pumpkin pie smoothie has all the delicious flavor of a slice of pie with a few ingredient swaps to turn it into a breakfast shake. There’s sugar and cinnamon and plenty of pumpkin. You can even add a crumbled graham cracker on top for a bit of crunchy pie crust texture.

Recipe variations
I wanted something semi-healthy that I could drink for breakfast, so this doesn’t have much sugar in it and I used unsweetened yogurt. You can easily customize this recipe to fit your preferences.
- Want more sweet? Add more brown sugar or use sweetened yogurt.
- Want less sweet (or already using a high-sugar yogurt)? Cut the brown sugar in half.
- Need it to be dairy-free? You can use any yogurt, milk, and whipped cream alternatives.
- Need it to be gluten-free? Check all your ingredients, but I believe you can just skip the graham cracker topping.
- Wish this was a dessert shake? Use vanilla ice cream instead of yogurt.
