It seems like my family is so busy during the week and many times on weekends too. Can you relate?
Whenever possible, we visit our local park on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. We walk along the trails, watch for birds and other animals, and let the kids run. Just a few hours every week or so is really nice.
My husband and I can relax and not worry about the endless to-do list waiting at home. The kids get to explore their independence. We all spend a little time enjoying nature and absorbing the afternoon sunshine and fresh air.
We’re all constantly connected to our devices, out of necessity and just plain habit. Getting outside is literally a breath of fresh air.
If this sounds all too familiar, it’s time to get your family outdoors.
Take a hike in a natural area, visit a local park, or just walk around your neighborhood. You’ll be surprised how different things look when you slow down and literally stop to smell the flowers.

Before you head out of the house, print off this fun nature scavenger hunt.
It includes a dozen nature elements that you can probably find outside. Some of them are a little harder to locate than others, but most of them can be found pretty easily by kids of all ages.
Print off a copy for each kid and see who can find the most. Or print one and encourage them to work together.
