After making a Mad Libs style Mother’s Day card, I couldn’t leave out dad!

I mean, dad is the creator of the dad joke, so he definitely deserves a few giggles on Father’s Day. Mad Libs are a fun way for kids to write a short story that’s silly and probably includes nonsense jokes.

I love Mad Libs because they’re easy for kids of all ages to do with a little help from another adult or a sibling. Plus, even the most innocent words become silly. (Although I always expect my kids to include some bathroom humor…)

How to make a Mad Libs style card

I won’t repeat the tutorial step-by-step, but you can read here how to make a Mad Libs style card.

Basically you’ll need to print, cut, and fold.

Then fill in the words in the blanks on the back of the card. There is space for things like nouns and verbs, plus easy ones like a movie title.

I designed this card to include cute solar system artwork with a planet Earth and little moon. There’s a short letter to dad that reminds him that you love him to the moon and back!

Gift this to dad by having the kids fill it out ahead of time. Alternatively, write a sweet message inside the card and let dad do the Mad Libs with the kids as a fun Father’s Day activity.

I think cards are a thoughtful gift on their own, but you could also pair this with a package of dad’s favorite candy, a movie or a book, or anything you know dad would love.
