If you’re looking for a fun new kids’ activity to spread out Easter Sunday fun and make it last a bit longer, swap a classic basket of treats for an Easter scavenger hunt!

All you need are these printable clues, plus whatever candy and treats you want to include.

Print and cut out all of the clues, then hide them around the house. Place the first clue in your child’s Easter basket on the dining table or wherever they’re sure to see it. Have your child carry their basket as they hunt and hide a small treat at each location.

Save a bigger treat for the end!

Easter hunt clues

I included 12 clues in this Easter scavenger hunt. I think that’s a good length for younger kids to follow along and older kids to not get bored.

Each clue has a cute little rhyme that describes somewhere in your house – plus a few outdoors.

Hand holding a scavenger hunt clue that reads "#1: Your search begins as the bunny hops away. Check your bookshelf without delay."

Some of the clue locations are pretty specific, but I tried to leave room for flexibility too. You can change up the locations to fit your home, but here are the locations I had in mind for each one:

  1. Your bookshelf – This is wherever your child’s books are stored.
  2. Near the recycling bin – We keep ours in the kitchen.
  3. Where your hair gets tamed – The bathroom with their hairbrush.
  4. Where we keep the coats – A coat closet or entryway coat rack.
  5. Where you keep your shoes – Near the front door or their closet (hide them inside the shoes!).
  6. Where you watch your favorite show – Probably the tv in the living room, but maybe with a tablet.
  7. Where we keep the snacks – The pantry or a snack jar on the counter.
  8. Where you do math – At a desk or wherever they do their homework.
  9. Where we check the mail – Inside the mailbox.
  10. Where we dry the clothes – Inside or on top of the dryer. (Of course if you don’t have a clothes dryer, you may need to get creative. Do you have a place for clothes that dry flat or hang?)
  11. Where you go to take a nap – Back in their bedroom.
  12. Where you play with your friends – In a playroom or the backyard.
