I originally created a snowman worksheet in January 2023. I completely redesigned it in 2025 by hand-drawing all of the snowman parts.
Do you want to draw a snowman? It’s much warmer (and a bit easier) than building one out of snow in your backyard.
Keep kids busy indoors on a snow day with this fun open-ended drawing activity. It’s also a great alternative if you live someplace where it doesn’t snow even when it’s really cold (like I do – Texas).
Download the roll and draw snowman worksheet and grab a 6-sided die (the regular cube). You might also want to provide plenty of pencils, erasers, crayons, or other art supplies.
The best part about this snowman is that it won’t melt!

How to draw a snowman
The download is a roll and draw worksheet. Roll a die and draw the style of the part that matches the number you roll. Roll 6 times total to include each of the categories.
- body
- arms
- hat
- accessory
- nose
- face with eyes and mouth
You can also add other details and color the finished picture. Or if you’d rather have a little more creative control, choose the illustrations to draw your own snowman design.
Get creative and have fun drawing! There’s plenty of space around the snowman to add a friend or turn it into a whole winter scene. Or change it up completely! Maybe your snowman is on vacation and needs a pair of sunglasses.
