Have you ever seen a real axolotl? You might find them at a zoo or aquarium. They’re a type of salamander only native to 2 lakes in Mexico and are endangered.
According to the San Diego Zoo, they’re naturally dark, earthy colors and only pink in captivity. The feathery things around their faces are gills.
I drew this axolotl on my iPad, then printed it on watercolor paper. I colored it with watercolor pencils, just like I did with the leaf sheep — another cute aquatic creature!
Coloring supplies
You’ll need a home printer with paper and ink to print these coloring pages. Then you can color them however you like! Here are my family’s favorite art supplies:
