Keeping track of the last time you did odd tasks around the house or irregular habits can be a hassle. Off the top of your head, do you remember when you last cleaned out the refrigerator? Probably not.

Even though I love and live by my planner, I don’t write down every single thing. The small, mundane things I do on no particular schedule tend to slip through the cracks. They aren’t a big deal, so I just don’t think about them until I realize it must have been a long time since I did them.

This year I finally designed a printable that will help me (and you) keep track.

Tracking irregular tasks

There are tons of things we do on a regular and frequent schedule – mopping the kitchen, paying the electric bill, grocery shopping, etc.

I’ve made chore charts and bill trackers and grocery lists to keep track of those things.

But I realized as my husband was going to get a haircut last week that I couldn’t remember the last time I had gotten one. He gets one about every 6 weeks. Now, I have long hair and don’t need a trim as often as he does. Still, was it… summer?

For me, it’s a combination of focusing on the tasks that are most urgent and always putting my family ahead of my own needs. But if I can make sure my dog gets her nails trimmed every other month, surely I can make time to take care of myself as well.

Part of adulting is getting things done before the absolute last minute when you need to. Maintenance of anything – your home, your car, yourself – makes things work better and last longer.

Additionally, when I’m planning ahead for things, even the inexpensive ones, it’s easier to fit them into my budget when I know they’re coming up. It’s those little costs that really add up too.

Okay, so anything you do daily or monthly can be tracked in this task and habit tracker.

How to use this page

This printable coordinates with all of my other planner inserts, including my yearly printable planner.

I designed this printable to fit a single 8.5×11-inch page. I made it pretty simple so you can customize it to keep up with whatever things are on your irregular schedule.

You can print it out on regular computer paper or use the PDF on your tablet.

Write in the tasks you’re tracking in the bigger boxes on the left. Pencil in the dates when you do each one in the smaller boxes on the right.
