This year it seems like while my kids are ready to go back to school and excited for a new year, we just don’t have that “back to school season” enthusiasm.
Maybe it’s because both of my kids are in middle school this year. Maybe it’s because the weather is alternating between 110 degrees and pouring down rain.
It might actually be because I haven’t created a ton of printables to help my kids get organized like I usually do. While I was making this printable binder cover, my oldest walked past and asked, “ooh, is that for me?”
Maybe kids really just need all the printables and then they’re ready for school? Okay, so it’s not that easy. Whether you’re using these binder covers for school or organizing your home, they’re fun to print and color.

Binder cover designs
There are 5 binder cover designs and most will work for multiple subjects.
- Art – Cute for any art classes
- Reading – English literature, humanities
- Science – biology, chemistry
- Social studies – history, geography
- Math – algebra, calculus
The label area in the middle is blank, so you can label it with anything. Write your name or the class subject. Print one for every class and create a matching color scheme.

Although I made these binder covers with school in mind, you can use them for any type of binder. Use it for something around the house, like a household binder or an emergency binder.
Print it on heavier paper and punch holes to make it the cover for your planner or reading journal. Trim the edges and use Mod Podge to attach these to a composition book.

The text boxes are large with space to write the subject, dates, and other details. You can hand-write on them or open the PDF in any editor program and type to use your favorite fonts before printing.
