Never underestimate the value of a handwritten card. Even a purchased card with a personal note will mean the world to your mom.
I love looking back at the creative things that my kids made for me when they were little. The macaroni necklaces may be gone, but the scribbled notes that went with them have been tucked away for safekeeping.
The pair of cards I created has a design on the outside and is blank inside so you can write your own message.
One version is colored in, so you can print, cut, and write your message. The other is a Mother’s Day coloring card, so it can be even more personalized.
I recommend you print it on cardstock so that it will hold up to markers, watercolors, etc.

The message is simple – it just says “Happy Mother’s Day!” so you can send it to mom, grandma, or your mother-in-law.
A hand-colored card makes a fun gift from a small child, but with a little creativity, it could be a fun adult coloring project too. Pair it with a gift card, a box of chocolates, or a bouquet of flowers for the perfect gift.

I created two different cards with a similar design. The first one is colored in with pretty pastel watercolors. The second one is just the outlines, so you can print and color.

Both versions can be printed on regular 8.5×11-inch paper or cardstock. There are guidelines to cut out the card and fold it in half. The finished card is 4.25×6 inches, so it will fit in an envelope if you wish.
