I’ve kept a diary or journal on and off since I was a kid. It has never been a daily habit, but I tend to go through phases where I feel like writing – then don’t for a while. Sometimes I write down little blurbs in my planner.

So at the beginning of 2020, I decided I wanted to try starting a bullet journal-style writing habit. (A bullet journal is a bit different in appearance, but gridlines follow the same concepts.)

I’ve made tons of printables and they are always the most popular blog posts for readers. I decided to share my journal pages in case others liked them too and many readers have really loved using them.

Well if you remember how 2020 turned out… starting a journal was one of the best choices I made that year! It helped me organize my thoughts and destress while we went through a very stressful year of remote working, virtual school, and social distancing.

Keeping a journal is a great way to focus on gratitude, write down your worries, and think through the things you probably don’t want to talk to many people about. It’s a place to jut down silly stories about the mundane bits of the day, log your meals, or make a book and music list.

It’s personal, but also fun!

How to start a journal

I wrote a whole blog post on how to start a journal. It’s a great habit to start and there’s really no wrong way to do it.

Although you can easily get started with any pen and paper, sometimes having guided journal pages is helpful. Even as a writer, I often sit down to write and don’t know where to start.

Having writing prompts and blank templates to follow is great for those days. And if you use the same ones year after year, you can see how you have grown and changed.

Get the printables

Each set of 16 printable journal pages is available to purchase and download in the Keri Houchin Design Shop. You can find each individual journal by clicking on the links under each one above or by going directly to the shop and toggling the category to see all journals.

I’ve also put them together in a bundle, along with 10 additional journal pages that aren’t available individually. There’s a bit of a discount if you get the bundle instead of purchasing all 12 months separately.

All of the printable journal pages are undated, so you can purchase them once, then download and print as many times as you like. While they are for personal use only, I don’t mind if you print a copy to give to someone as a gift. Please don’t share the digital files with anyone or print dozens to hand out, resell, etc.

Gridlined pages to track travel, daily routine by the hour, daydreams, and movies.
