When my kids were little, we celebrated New Year’s Eve by staying in and having a little party for just our family. There’s something so sweet about putting on your jammies early in the evening, eating junk food all night, and playing games together.
Whether you count down to midnight or opt for an earlier bedtime, this word search is a simple printable activity for all ages. I hid 21 words related to celebrating the end of the old year and the beginning of the new one.

New Year’s word search
For this printable, I kept the layout simple. All of the words are either left to right or top down. There aren’t any diagonal or backward ones. I also avoided having any words overlap. So you can use my favorite word search technique without it getting muddy!
Grab some crayons, colored pencils, or your favorite markers. Color the boxes for each word when you find them. (Or just outline the boxes like I did in the picture above.) You’ll want to use a few different colors for words that are touching. The end result is fun and colorful and easy to read.
