We love LEGO at my house. It’s the perfect gift for just about every kid because they are durable, versatile, and fun for all ages. DUPLO and LEGO are always on best toy lists because they’re timeless.
If you’re shopping for a child for Christmas, birthday, or any other gift-giving reason, I’ve rounded up some of the best LEGO gift ideas that I’ve found in the LEGO shop.
LEGO gifts for little kids
Preschoolers and little kids love LEGO and its chunky cousin DUPLO. They are perfect for early recognition of shapes and colors, and for practicing fine motor skills.
DUPLO Classic Heart Box
Start them off with a basic building set that’s perfect for little hands. The DUPLO Classic Heart Box includes 80 pieces. It has a rainbow of basic bricks, flowers, propellers, and specialty pieces. This is a great starter set for a toddler; the recommended age is 18 months and up.

The DUPLO Coding Express is really different from most sets. Not only can kids build a train that moves along a track, but they can even program it. Using the app and beginner coding, program the robot to move and do other tasks.
LEGO gift for tweens and teens

Lord of the Rings: Rivendell
I hesitate to include Rivendell in a gift guide because it’s pretty pricey. But if you are a Lord of the Rings fan, it’s magical. We built it over spring break and it took something like 15 hours over 3 or 4 days. It’s really impressive in both size and detail. There are over 6000 pieces and the finished model is huge.
