Color by number pages were always one of my favorites as a kid. There’s something so fun about following the instructions to reveal a hidden picture.
Kids will love picking out just the right crayon colors and following the numbers to color in each box and shape. This simple black and white activity sheet turns into a festive and colorful fall sunflower on a funky patterned background.
I created this fall color by number to be pretty simple. It’s mostly circles and squares and the numbers go from 1 to 7. I’ve found most color-by-number activities are best for first or second grade, but kids who are younger or older may enjoy them too.
Use this for a quiet time activity to keep your child busy or as a fun project to get them excited about the changing season. It would be so fun to include this along with some other fun fall activities, like a nature scavenger hunt or making a veggie paper fortune.
And my Thanksgiving Coloring and Activity Book also has tons of fall activities with squirrels, leaves, turkeys, and gratitude.

Coloring supplies
You’ll need a home printer with paper and ink to print these coloring pages. Then you can color them however you like! Here are my family’s favorite art supplies:
- Crayola colored pencils
- Crayola crayons
- Crayola markers
- Crayola Colors of the World bundle
- Yasutomo watercolor paints
- Arteza watercolor pencils
- Arteza brush pens
Or use these to make mixed media art by adding glitter glue, cut paper, or whatever other art supplies you and your kids enjoy.

Printable color by number
My fall color by number includes a single-page printable. It’s black and white, so you can print it without much ink.
The finished design is a sunflower in a pot, surrounded by fall-colored boxes.
