Make a DIY travel mug for a fun semi-handmade gift using printable inserts with fun coffee quotes from Star Trek, Elf, and Gilmore Girls.

Anything that can be personalized is a fun gift. These plastic travel coffee mugs come apart so you could swap out the insert regularly with art or photos.
I designed three different inserts for download. The one pictured is a quote from Captain Janeway from Star Trek Voyager.

DIY travel mug

Supplies
- plastic travel cup with lid
- printer paper
- printable coffee insert (download below)
- optional: single-serving coffee, tea, or other beverage
Instructions
1. Print and cut out the paper insert.
I printed mine on card stock, but you might look for something more durable. In general, mugs like this usually aren’t dishwasher safe and will leak a bit after a few years even if you’re careful with them.
2. Assemble the DIY travel mug.
Slide the paper between the layers of the travel mug and reassemble it.
3. Add extras if you like.
This is optional, but it’s a nice little extra if you want to fill the mug with something like coffee, tea, or cocoa.
