One Thanksgiving many years ago, my husband and I very ambitiously decided to make a turducken. If you’re not familiar with the (Medieval) concept, It’s a chicken inside of a duck inside of a turkey. Each bird is butterflied, layered together with stuffing in between, and tied back closed. Three birds and three types of stuffing.

I told you we were ambitious.

The extended family was incredibly excited and curious about our impressive cooking. When it came time to serve, though, they only ate the turkey. I don’t remember how long it took us to make, but it was a long time.
