There’s something about a classic Polaroid photo that’s too cute, so I made these printable paper picture frames to imitate the style. Each design folds to be about 3.5×4 inches with a square 3×3 slot for the photo to peek out.
These match my summer road trip journal pages, so they’re perfect for adding photos to your journal.
You can also use these in tons of other fun ways!
- Add a thin magnetic backing and stick your photos on the fridge.
- String a bunch together with clothespins on a cord for some trendy dorm decor.
- Thumbtack them up on a bulletin board.
- Make keepsakes from a party or use them alongside a photo booth setup.
These will work with professionally-printed photos or the ones you print at home. Use photo paper or just regular printer paper if that’s what you have.
How to make a paper picture frame
The PDF download includes 4 colorful frames plus a page of white frames so you can print on any patterned or colored paper.
Supplies
- PDF picture frame template (download below)
- white card stock
- printed photos
- paper trimmer or scissors
- tape or adhesive (acid-free if photos are for archiving)
Instructions
1. Print the colorful photo frames on white card stock.
2. Cut out around the outside lines of the photo frame and its backing (the dotted lines). I like the crispness of a paper trimmer and it’s pretty easy to cut out the center this way, but you can use scissors.
3. Cut out the inside of each photo frame.
4. Crease the photo frame along the dotted lines and fold the frame and back in half. They should line up. Cut the photos to fit inside the fold.
5. Use tape or glue to attach the photo to the paper picture frame.
Repeat to make as many framed photos as you like!
