Why are tiny things so cute? Who knows, but I had so much fun creating this little folding book template. Just print and follow the instructions to cut and fold a single page into a 6-page book.
There are lots of ways you can use it!
- poems
- short story
- doodles
- notes
- collections
- stickers
- lists
As always, I created this as a craft for kids, but it’s fun for little ones, teens, and even adults too!
After you assemble the book, you’ll see that there is space for a title and author on the front cover. The inside pages are numbered 1-6 and alternate lines and empty boxes.
How to make a one-page book
Supplies
- home printer
- printer paper (not card stock)
- scissors
- your favorite art supplies
Instructions
Print the book template.
Start by printing the book template onto regular printer paper. I often recommend card stock for printables, but for this one, card stock is too thick for all the folds.
If you can print without a border, eg. all the way to the edge, that’s ideal. If not, your printer may cut off the lines at the margin (see how on page 4, it’s missing the outside line?).
Cut along the dotted line.
Next, fold the paper in half with the dotted line in the center. use scissors to cut along that line.
Unfold the paper. You’ll see that you’ve cut along the center of the book.
Fold and crease pages.
Fold the paper in half the other direction. The cut section will be along the top.
Fold and crease the pages so that the center ones fold out. You’ll push them all the way out flat so the paper makes a cross.
Align pages in order.
Hold the book with the front cover facing toward you, then rotate all the pages around until they’re behind it.
From here, you can write a title and your name on the cover. Then, fill the book pages with whatever you like!
