Teacher Appreciation Week is officially the first full week in May. At my kids’ school, we celebrate it earlier, so it might be different for you too. I’ve rounded up the best teacher appreciation gifts from some of my favorite bloggers. Of course, I had to throw in a few that we have made too.

Teacher gift ideas
1. gift card
By far, the number one thing on a teacher’s wish list is gift cards. The teachers I know spend hundreds of dollars on supplies every year out of their own pockets. Giving them cash to spend in the classroom or on themselves is a meaningful treat. Dress your gift card up in this easy DIY felt envelope.
2. coffee cozy
Crochet or sew a cute coffee cozy in about an hour or less. Pair it with a gift card to Starbucks, some fancy teas, or whatever other beverage your teacher enjoys.
3. handmade lotion
I love this handmade lotion and use it every day. It lasts a long time, so it is a great item to keep tucked away in a desk drawer. Before you add any essential oils, be sure to check if your teacher has an allergy.
4. school themed clothespin magnets
Um, these are adorable. With a few scrapbooking supplies and some Mod Podge, make up a set of these clothespin magnets that are both practical and fun.
5. tote bag
If you’ve got time to sew, make this sturdy and attractive tote bag. It is great for groceries, but also for carrying books, planners, and other school supplies.
6. 100 things we love about…
If you can coordinate the whole class to collect cash, this is the perfect gift. On the outside, it says “100 things we love about (teacher’s name).” Inside is $100 in singles, plus meaningful messages from the kids. Follow the instructions from Everything Pink.
7. snack and drink care package
Can’t decide what your teacher’s favorite treat is? Gather a little bit of everything – sweets, salty snacks, healthy food, and a drink. Package it all in an altered Sonic drink carrier for a fun care package with this free printable by Design by Dani.
8. punny candy bar
If you’re looking for something simple and sweet, candy is the way to go. Dress up a simple chocolate bar with one of these free printable candy bar wrappers that say things like “You are the best teacher… bar none!”
9. potted plant
Amy at Living Locurto has an idea for an easy DIY potted plant that will cost only a few dollars. Dress it up with her free printable gift tag.
10. personalized clipboard
Who says functional has to be boring? This DIY personalized clipboard can be made with a little help from your child. Keep it simple or embellish it to be more personal.
11. personalized pens
If you have a few minutes after making the clipboard in #10, it pairs perfectly with these personalized pens. After you see how easy it is to add craft paper to a ballpoint pen, you may do this to ones you own too.
12. kitchen goodies
Does your teacher love to cook? Stuff an oven mitt with cooking supplies or gourmet ingredients. Print off this cute tag from Somewhat Simple.
13. orange gift basket
Round up all the best orange treats you can find – natural sparkling orange soda, an orange ice cube tray, sunscreen in an orange tube… Put it in a basket with an orange ribbon, of course. Print off this cute tag that reads, “Orange you glad it’s almost summer?”
14. picnic basket
Stock a picnic basket with all the necessary supplies for a fun outing. Dixie Delights found an insulated bag and plasticware at Ikea for a total of $11. I’d look in the $1 spot at Target for other fun add-ons too.
These are just a few teacher appreciation gift ideas that I’ve been collecting. I’d love to know what creative ideas you have to add to my list.
