Easy cork photo holders

I love these easy cork photo holders! They can be made from things you probably already have around the house and are so simple. Make up several to create a cute photo display on a shelf or mantle.

Cork photo holders

I originally made these for me and Hubby’s business to hold price signs. I have had so many people ask if they could buy them. They’re so simple and they’re made from recycled materials, so I thought I would share how I made them.

Supplies

For each photo holder:

• four round wine corks
• stretchy elastic cord or ribbon
• a wooden skewer
• a clothespin {I used mini clothespins}
• super glue

Instructions

Start by laying out your corks in a bock shape. They need to sit flat, so if one is wonky, try turning them different directions until you get the right order.

Using the elastic cord, tie the cork block together. I did mine like a gift. Go around from one direction and cross the cord on the bottom. Go back up the other direction and tie a knot.

The corks can be a bit finicky, so I recommend wrapping it around once to get a measurement for the cord. Then cut the cord and tie the two ends together and slip that back in place.

Next, cut your skewer to about six inches. You could make them taller or shorter, or do a set and stagger them.

Attach the clothespin to one end of the skewer with super glue. You might also be able to use craft glue or wood glue, but I wanted to be sure these would last a long time and super glue worked perfectly.

Let the clothespin dry. With super glue, that’s just about two or three minutes. Stick the other end of the skewer between the corks into the base.

Ta-da!

It’s really that simple. I made up half a dozen in probably half an hour or less.

To display your photos, just slip one into the top of the clothespin. It’s easy to swap out pictures as often as you like. They would also work to hold labels or price signs at a craft show {as I did} or label food on a buffet at a party.
