There are some things that just go together perfectly. Like LEGO and Star Wars!
My family loves both and over the years my kids have tried to come up with lots of their own creative builds. Of course, we have quite a few of the official sets too.

If you’ve got older kids who need some new ideas for building with LEGO, I’ve got a dozen fun ideas for you. Print the set of cards below and get busy creating!
These cards are similar to my LEGO challenge cards – with a fun twist.
LEGO Star Wars building ideas
There are 12 challenge cards included with the printable. I want to give you a peek at a few of them.

I wanted to make these really open-ended. If your kids want to build specific characters or ships, you can probably find instructions online. Or purchase the licensed LEGO kits.
That’s a lot of fun, but there are also a lot of benefits to the challenge of coming up with your own ideas. For example, this card below asks kids to build a droid that can help with a task your child needs to do.
Maybe they just want to make one that they can imagine answers homework questions. Or maybe they’ll come up with a clever tool for making their bed!

Since the cards are all inspired by the films, each one also has a little nod to them. Some are broad, but I also pulled some specific iconic things from the original and prequel trilogies, plus the newer films and tv series.

Some of the challenges are simpler, while others are probably better suited to older kids and tweens. Ultimately, they’re meant to be fun so don’t take any of them too seriously!
