My family loves Pokémon Go and we always play together. It’s a fun way to get everyone out of the house on a walk through the park. When the weather is nice, we sometimes end up walking quite a few kilometers.
On rainy spring days when it’s a little too cold and wet, going outside isn’t too much fun, so I need to find some other way to entertain my Pokémon-loving kids. *ahem* A way to entertain them that doesn’t mean they spend all day playing video games inside too.
The solution: Pokémon puzzles!

Pokémon maze and word search
I made four different Pokémon activity sheets – 2 mazes and 2 word search puzzles. One maze and word search are easier and the other of each are a bit harder. I mostly used Pokémon from Generation 1 and Generation 2.
What’s included
Note: I edited graphics and made these puzzles myself, but the original source for the individual character images is Vecteezy.com.
- Choose a buddy maze – Follow the maze through one of three different exits to choose your first buddy. Will it be Charmander, Pikachu, or Bulbasaur? (I know I left out Squirtle, but I didn’t have a picture!)
- Baby maze – Follow the maze to one end to find the adorable baby Pokémon – Igglybuff, Togepi, and Magby.
- Eevee word search – Find all 9 Eevee eeveelution names.
- General word search – Find 12 different names.
- Answer keys for all four puzzles.

Of course, this would be a fun activity for kids even if they don’t play the smartphone game. You could add them to a road trip activity binder with other printable games and activities to keep the kids entertained in the car. They would also be a fun activity for a birthday party or to put in favor bags.
