Printable Fruit Memory Game + DIY Tutorial

Memory is a fun game for kids in a wide age range. Keep it simple with just a few pieces of this fruit memory game for toddlers or use the whole set to challenge older kids.

Memory is a classic kids’ game that is fun for all ages. This version is a fruit memory game and I’ve got a simple tutorial for turning this into a handmade gift. Download the printable for fun now or save it and surprise a child with a simple Christmas present.

I think memory is one of those games that can be easy or hard, depending on how many pieces you use. For this version, I included ten different fruits. You can use all of them for older kids who need a challenge or just set up with a few for preschoolers.

I’ve been saving the lids off of frozen orange juice concentrate for a while. If you don’t buy that kind of juice, you could use canning jar lids or laminate the circles instead to make them more durable.

Memory game assembly

You can cut out the circles and use them as they are, laminate the cards, or follow this tutorial to attach them to metal juice lids for long-lasting fun.

Supplies

  • 2 pages of fruit printables (at the bottom of this post)
  • 20 metal frozen juice lids, clean and dry
  • Mod Podge
  • sponge brush

Instructions

Cut out all of the fruit along the dotted lines. It’s kind of tedious, but if you have a 2.5-inch circle punch it will go faster.

Use the Mod Podge to glue a fruit picture on the inside of each lid. Then go back and brush a coat of Mod Podge over the picture and let that dry. I used a cheap black foam brush and put two coats of Mod Podge over the top.

Let them dry for about half an hour before you do anything with them. Let them dry overnight before you stack them together. If they’re still a bit tacky, they may stick together.

How to play memory

This game can be played by just one, but is fun for 2-4 players. Turn all of the pictures face down on a table and mix them up. Players take turns flipping over two pictures.

If they match, you keep them. If they don’t, you turn them back over. Try to memorize where each fruit is and collect the most pairs!

I like how the lids stack together so neatly for storage and you could easily fit the stack in a small jewelry gift box.

This printable is just one 8.5×11-inch page, but you’ll need to print it twice. I recommend card stock. All printables are for personal use only.

Thanks, Laurie! I’ve been saving juice lids for far too long so I’m glad to finally have found a good use for them.
