I love classic Christmas carols and don’t mind hearing Mariah Carey sing “All I Want for Christmas is You” a few times every year. But for Christmas 2020 I decided to start making a playlist that included songs I haven’t heard a zillion times.
That playlist slowly grew and now it’s got over 60 songs, so I thought it was time to share. This is the perfect playlist for anyone whose looking for something new.
You’ll find some covers of classics, but mostly just new songs. There’s pop, rock, and some that probably defy categorizing.
Add a few of these to your playlist for a holiday party or while decorating the tree this year. There aren’t any songs here that aren’t kid-friendly, but this playlist is definitely intended for adults who do not want to hear Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer again.
If you’re looking for something more traditional, I also have one called Holly Jolly Remixes that has covers of 20 classic Christmas songs.
Christmas playlist
You can listen to this playlist or save it to your Spotify account. I called it My Grownup Christmas [Play] List because I love a pun. (It’s a play on the Kelly Clarkson song.) It’s almost 4 hours and in random order, so play it on shuffle.
Favorite Christmas songs
It’s a long list, so here are a few highlights:
- Grown Up Christmas List – Kelly Clarkson
- Happy Xmas (War is Over) – Josh Groban
- White Wine in the Sun – Tim Minchin
- Snow – Leslie Odom Jr.
- At Christmas – Hanson
- It Will Still Be Christmas – The Boy Least Likely To
- Can’t Stop Christmas – Robbie Williams
- Snowman – Sia
- Merry Christmas – Ed Sheeran & Elton John
- Christmas is All Around – Billy Mack

I also like to add playlists to my planner. It’s sort of a journal that shows how I was feeling or what my mood was at a certain time.
If you want to add a printable playlist to your planner or bullet journal, this watercolor playlist page is fun year-round.
