I think I could probably eat doughnuts every day. They’re so light and fluffy. I could probably come up with a new doughnut recipe every day too. Then I’d never get anything else done. Have you tried my apple cinnamon doughnuts and my chocolate chip cherry doughnuts? They are good, but not as good as the recipe I’m sharing today. This recipe is for blueberry yogurt baked doughnuts.

Blueberry yogurt baked doughnuts recipe
Okay, do you typically bake with yogurt? If not, you’re missing out. It might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of doughnuts. It makes these so soft and flavorful. Get a really good yogurt. You don’t need much.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter, soft
- 1/4 cup sugar {or your favorite sugar-sub}
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 cup flour
- 1- 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 6 ounces blueberry yogurt
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream the butter and sugar together. Add the egg and milk and mix. Add the flour and baking powder, mixing some more. Finally, add the yogurt and mix just until it is combined.
Scoop the mix into a zip-top bag and snip off one corner. Pipe the mix into the cavities of a doughnut pan.
Bake the doughnuts at 350 degrees F for about 20 minutes. They’re done with the edges are noticeably brown or a toothpick comes out clean.
These are best hot and fresh out of the oven. They are also good the next day. They can be kept in a covered container on the counter overnight, but they might get sticky if it’s humid. You can also just put the container in the refrigerator and toast your doughnut to heat it later.
My daughter said these taste like Pop Tarts. I kind of agree, but they aren’t as sweet, which is a good thing.
I was originally planning on making a cream cheese frosting, but they really didn’t need it. If you want a really sugary indulgence, just whip an 8-ounce package of cream cheese with a few tablespoons of powdered sugar.
Here’s where this recipe will become your favorite. You can just change your yogurt flavor and make any kind of doughnut you like. Strawberry. Peach. Vanilla.
Now, I can’t be held responsible if you end up eating doughnuts every day.
I might be doing that too.

These look delicious. My boys would love these – must give this recipe a try. 🙂
Let me know how they turn out for you!
I’m going to save this recipe! Do you think I could bake them in a muffin tin?
I haven’t tried making this recipe in a muffin tin, but before I got the doughnut pans, I had success making other doughnut recipes that way. You might need to tweak the time a little bit. If you do it, let me know how it turns out!
