Make your bedroom a relaxing space in the evening by mixing up a relaxing essential oils room spray. This simple recipe includes two flowers that will leave your space smelling like a spa.
I might be the last person you know who is jumping on the essential oils bandwagon. We have so many allergies in my house and perfumes and other scented things are definitely a big one.
I was looking for easy ways to sleep better and came across several suggestions for essential oils. I decided to try a few that have a mild and natural scent and wasn’t disappointed.
Note: Essential oils shouldn’t be used instead of advice from a doctor. I’m not a medical expert, so definitely talk to your doc if you have sleep trouble.
I picked up a few basic oils but didn’t want to splurge on setting up a diffuser in several rooms in my house. So I came up with this simple essential oils room spray recipe. It smells lovely and relaxing.
Essential oils room spray recipe
Supplies
- rose oil
- chamomile oil
- small spray bottle {mine is 6 ounces}
- water
Instructions
Put about 10 drops of each of the two oils into the spray bottle. Fill the rest with water.
To use the spray, simply spritz the room with a small mist. A little really goes a long way.
I’ve been spraying this in my kids’ bedrooms and my own bedroom in the evening. The floral scent is relaxing and reminds me of a spa.
Variations
In my research, the two essential oils that seem to be top of the list for relaxing are cedarwood and lavender. Those also happen to be two of the biggest allergens for my family, so we avoid them to be safe. If you don’t have a cedar or lavender allergy, you might try one or both of these instead.
Room spray printable labels
I quickly realized that I needed to label my blends so that I wouldn’t forget what they were. If you accidentally spray peppermint, you’ll feel energized and alert and not sleepy at all!
Click here to download my labels.
They’re a simple oval shape with a wreath of pretty flowers. They fit Avery label #22820 if you want to just peel and stick. You can also print on any type of label or sticker paper and just trim them with scissors.
I left the labels blank, so you can fill in with whatever blends you mix up. I just wrote on mine with a permanent marker, but you could open the PDF in Adobe Reader and type onto the labels before printing too.
