I’m always looking for ways to make my planner more helpful, especially if it can save me time. I actually came up with the idea for these planner bookmarks while I was reading a book… in the bathtub.
I’m whatever kind of person you are when you are constantly working on ideas in the back of your mind while doing something else. Often that something else is reading, and I realized that instead of getting up and making a note or doing the distracting task, I could just write it down and come back later.
I love using my planner as my brain so I don’t have to remember details like schedules and lists, so this is really handy.
There are six different designs and I made them in two different sizes. The larger ones are a half sheet, so you can punch holes and use them alongside all your other printable planner inserts. The smaller ones are a more traditional bookmark size, so you can use them while reading.
Both printables have light gray dotted lines to help with cutting out. Use your favorite sharp scissors or a paper cutter.
Planner bookmark lists
Each list has a watercolor banner across the top that matches all my other printables. The purple one doesn’t have any text, so you can use it in any way you can think of.
- Pink – to do
- Orange – shopping
- Yellow – reading list
- Green – notes
- Blue – meal plan
- Purple – blank
I always seem to have a running to-do list of items that don’t really have a deadline. Inevitably, a few don’t get done by the weekend, so when I flip my planner to the next week’s spread, I have to copy over my unfinished list too. With these planner bookmarks, I can simply open the rings and move the list over.
If you’re using a 3-ring binder planner like mine, you can easily add and rearrange lists as you need. Move a shopping list from week to week, bump unfinished tasks on your to-do list to the next page in your planner, and keep a shortlist in the middle of any pages.
If you need something even smaller, the traditional bookmark sizes are about 2×5-inches with plenty of space for writing.
The smaller bookmarks are perfect for tracking your reading list, making notes while cooking a favorite recipe, or writing down a supply shopping list while flipping through a craft book.
How to get the printable
I designed these printable bookmarks to fit on regular 8.5×11-inch paper. For the small ones, all 6 fit together on a single page. For the larger ones, I fit 2 of each list on a page for a total of 6 pages.
They work great on plain paper or cardstock. I haven’t tried it, but you might be able to laminate the lists so they are reusable. You may have to play around with what kind of pen will wipe off easily but not rub off on your planner pages.
You may need to allow popups or give permission to download. If you want to save this printable for later, please pin an image from this blog post instead of saving the direct link to the PDF.
