Label your homegrown herbs or mixed herb and spice blends with this set of free printable jar labels.
Growing your own herbs in a few pots on the windowsill is a simple alternative to a backyard garden (or a great addition). Most herbs require little attention and add a bit pop of flavor to your meals. I planted several different types of herbs earlier this year and keep them in my kitchen near the sink.
Indoors, they will probably grow faster than you can eat them. To keep your herbs from getting too big, trim and dry them. I’ve tried clipping longer stems and hanging them. Individual leaves can also be plucked and dried. For the leaves, you’ll need a space where you can spread them out evenly. You can also use a food dehydrator to dry them in a few hours, although I haven’t tried that yet.
Store dried herbs in containers with your other spices. They’ll last about as long as their store-bought counterparts, as long as they are clean and thoroughly dry when they go into jars. {The tiniest bit of moisture will cause mold!}
Use these free printable jar labels to keep track of what you have. Each one features a simple green herb motif and space to write in the contents.

Print on 8.5’x11″ paper and cut out the circles. I recommend cardstock if you’re going to put these in canning jar lids. If you’re sticking them to the jars, label paper will work too.
There are 9 labels to a page. if you print them at 100%, they will fit inside the lid of a regular-sized canning jar. You can also scale them smaller to print on sticker or label paper.
The labels are blank, but you can hand write or type in the names. To type, open the PDF in Adobe Reader or a similar word editor that will let you create text/signature boxes.
